When you
go away from a job, you do not automatically lose your health insurance.
Thanks to the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985
(COBRA), some companies that offer a group health assurance plan should
provide most workers who lose their coverage the chance to maintain it
for up to eighteen months. The no-win situation is that the worker must
pay the complete premium, up to 102% of the manager's price. The extra 2
% is an organizational payment. The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation is seen as a protection network. You have sixty days to make a choice about sign up COBRA, and at whatever time you sign it, the coverage is retrospective. Once you know that you will lose the group coverage, start planning to buy a new individual plan. Shop and talk to independent representatives. If you discover a plan you like, submit an application for it. You must be able to find out if you are accepted in those sixty days.
